A cool round rock I dragged down from the field

This rock and the two below are ones the boss brought me as gifts.
Some girls like diamonds, but I am found of large field stones.
My folks have been serious mineral collectors for quite some while, so some of the rocks around here are really more in the line of minerals. Then there are the other ones, which we pick up from the fields.

You and I are alike I LOVE rocks. I wear a rose quartz daily to heal the heart, they say. Every rock you posted is delightful! Every last one. Heck I even enjoy gravel!

That stone fence is gorgeous, what a work of art! I have a kitchen windowsill filled with rocks and fossils from all over the place. TSA runs your luggage through the scanner several times when you pack rocks in your dirty socks. :o)

Caroline, that is hilarious! My window sill has an ever changing array of pebbles too. When I get tired of them I toss them on top of the dirt in my plant pots.

Shirley, if you ever come to this area of NY in the warm months you can dig all day at several mines for around twelve dollars. This one was dug by my brother. The place where the mica was collected by my dad and me is closed alas, same with the quartz
Henry, I keep wondering who built it as it looks quite new. Lots of stone walls in this area although not usually quite that neat. Farmers built them from the stones they found in their fields. Some were built before the Revolution and still wind through empty forests leaving a reminder of the long gone settlers here.
Great work and effort! So many varieties and forms of rocks!
