Blue Jay

Came across this really neat link while reading Cornell's bird stuff on FB. Isn't this guy just the coolest thing you ever saw?

I love jays, and this one is a beauty. I wonder if it's a fluke or a legitimate species.

You would love our Scrub Jays ThreeC. Such amazing little creatures. Are you and the family on for the Christmas Day Count?

Jays are amazing birds, and that one is off the charts.

Dani, isn't he just the coolest thing! I was reading uo on unusual specimens because of color and came across this guy. Couldn't resist sharing

Susan, I think he is just a fluke and probably didn't survive long, but what a cute little guy

Dani, wish I could see one and add it to my life list. Maybe some day we will get south again. The one time I did get to Florida I added dozens of birds and had a fabulous time! We are on for the bird count, but for some reason it is on a weekday so most of our team has to work at real jobs. No one is terribly happy at this point.

FC, I love the way ours fool me with their calls! And they are so bright and beautiful. Never saw one that looked like that guy though.

Linda, I really enjoy the antics of our local blue jays. Quite a job for them to eat from a tube feeder, but they always find a way. lol

Dang. That is reeeally different. I've got 5 gorgeous blue jays at my feeders, but nobody has a headdress as splendid as that!
