Day by Day

Snow Buntings

One step forward and ten steps back. I played the messages on the answering machine to retrieve one the boss needed. And there was Mom's voice asking us to pick up something Dad needed.

Backslid big time there.

I just don't feel like writing and so I haven't been. Been neglecting everything but the things that have to be done. Hopefully things will improve as the season advances. I have a hard time in winter anyhow.

Heavy, clunky, wet snow today to greet us. Might rain later. I guess it's pretty and I guess I should get up and hang up the laundry, feed the birds, and walk the dog again.

Hope you are all well...much love from Northview farm.

BTW, thank you for all the sweet and comforting comments, and for the cards you have sent and the kind words contained. They mean a lot to all of us and we are really grateful that you have thought of us in that way.

Continuing to keep you and your family in my prayers, I know how tough grieving is. God bless you.

The gray skies and cold lonely Winter pandemic, doesn't do much for up lifting. Be kind to yourself, and take whatever time you need. Those snow buntings are beautiful.

When Mom died I gathered all her things and brought them home to go through later. It was when I turned on the answering machine to get any messages I heard DAD'S voice. I burst out crying. Daddy died a few months before Mom. She saved the message so she could hear him ----my heart broke for both of them.

I so understand, Marianne. I so understand.

Hugs and love to you.

Time is the best healer. Clearly you are in all our thoughts, my friend.

Shirley, thank you for your prayers. It is hard and a lot of the time I just don't know what to do.

Aurora, thanks for your kind words. I am trying to get going again, but it seems a slow process. I love the winter birds...Horned Larks, Buntings and Longspurs. This little flock is weird. They perch in trees or on power wires. Most unusual.

Linda, this totally blindsided me. For three years we had been taking increasing care of them...shopping, cooking and the like, and we often fed them before this...but they were very independent. Then suddenly over just a handful of weeks they fell ill and were gone. I still can't really grasp that. Thanks

Dickiebo, thank you so much for that.
