I have to agree with everyone else (how rare for me!) ... both are lovely but the second is truly stunning ... an entire world reflected in this perfect drop of water. About cows ... sorry for my ingnorance, but why in hell do you put magnets in their stomachs?....

Dani, thank you so much. I went out to take pictures of fog on the mountains and there it was, right in our recycled Christmas tree

Ed, thanks!

Dibear, thank you! I love macros.

Far side, thanks so much

msw, thank you...just one of those lucky shots

gttyup, super macro setting, a little cropping and thanks so much!

Lisa, thanks, they just happened. I wasn't going to do macro Monday, but then I saw the drops of water on the tree and the little buds...

Brenda, thank you very much

James, thanks. On the magnet thing...cows ingest their food very carelessly, just gobble it up in great big mouths full. Sometimes bits of metal end up in their stomachs, nails, wire, bits of sharp steel. Left alone these tend to cut into their stomach lining near their heart and can kill them. A heavy, often plastic coated magnet, with nice smooth edges usually grabs all the bits of metal and keeps them at the bottom of the stomach where they do no harm. Search this blog for cow magnets for pics and a better explanation

Linda, thank you kindly!
