Summer Days

The smell of fresh mowed hay and Riverbank Grapes in bloom, Cottonwood seeds drifting on the wind. Baby robins everywhere, and the relentless singing of the House Wren on the sitting porch.

Fans and humidity, summer colds, and hard-to-sleep-hot nights. It's here....sometimes I wondered if it was going to make it.....

Flowers and songbirds, thunderstorms and wind, watching the garden grow- and don't forget pulling those weeds! Summer is beautiful. Not sure if I would rather mow our huge lawn twice a week or shovel paths in the snow.... every season has it's beauty. But only in summer can you smell the roses!

Shirley, the roses are just coming into bloom here now. I don't grow them, but the wild ones in the fields, although a pest, smell wonderful just now.
