Above is a slightly redacted (to hide the kids' faces and the name on the mailbox) photo taken at the same time as yesterday's Sunday Stills Black-and-white shot. What a difference color makes to the mood here. And what a job those iron wheels do on the road surface!)
Below is another shot of the straying sheep that appeared in the first photo. They were in a big hurry, but not nearly as much as the farmer chasing them. Driving the roads around here is rarely boring...glad we are not usually in a hurry, and kinda sorry for the folks who are. It can get pretty western just traveling from place to place.

I live in a fairly heavily populated farm area in Wisconsin with a lot of Amish in pockets around here.
Looks like a typical day on some of our roads we share with buggies.
Aaahh. Country traffic jambs, be they from loose sheep, alpacas (I've had it happen!), cows crossing the road to get milked, or manure spreaders lumbering from barn to field, are sooo much more interesting than those in the city.
Thanks for sharing the rest of the story! The first photo definitely feels different. I noticed the kids bare feet right away, then the matching clothes with Father, horse hooves & road reflections. Such interesting travels to take in stride.
Val, conventional farming is being devoured by solar development, but the Amish are strong holdouts.
Joated, traffic lambs. lol or maybe lamb traffic. Haven't met any alpacas loose in the road yet, but just about everything else.
Aurora, it is fun to drive around here, although it has gotten pretty expensive lately. Thanks
